This Is What Women Leaders Bring To The Table

Leaders in business tend to be overwhelmingly men. The reasons for this aren’t entirely clear: after all, there’s nothing directly stopping women from setting up their own businesses and excelling in the market. But, for whatever reason, be it social or otherwise, women are underrepresented.

This applies in particular in existing corporate structures. Though all Fortune 500 companies are equal opportunities employers, just 4.7 percent of them are headed by women. Women leaders are rare both at large, international corporations and small business enterprises.

But there’s a growing school of thought that believes that women make particularly effective leaders. That’s not to say that men are “bad” – they’ve done a good job heading up profitable companies so far. Rather, it’s that women bring a different set of skills to the table, many of which are complementary to those of men. Women-headed businesses have distinct advantages, and women leaders need to develop those traits in which they excel.

The best women leaders, according to Glenn Llopis, the author of Earning Serendipity: 4 Skills for Creating and Sustaining Good Fortune in Your Work, are those who are in touch with their company culture and what’s actually happening on the ground. It’s his view that women are able to sense the mood in a company and react in ways that are both beneficial to them and their employees. Better still are those who can quickly switch gears, deal with social problems in the company one minute and then adopted a laser-light focus the next on impressing Wall Street and digesting new financial information.

What is it that makes women leaders stand out? Perhaps it’s their ability to collaborate, or maybe it’s their skill in doing many things all at once. Whatever it is, female leaders have a rhythm, and they’re not afraid to dance to it.

Here are some of the things that women leaders can bring to the table.

Inspiration And Meaning

Getting your people enthusiastic about coming to work every morning can be a challenge, even for businesses that do amazing work in the world. But many women are able to meet these challenges by giving employees what they really want: a sense of purpose.

Nobody goes to work wanting to believe that what they’re doing doesn’t matter or, worse still, is harming people. They want to think that what they’re doing is worthwhile and that their individual role makes a difference.

Women-led businesses often have purpose as a central concern. There a high attention to detail and high standards around the office: no corner cutting or special privileges. Everybody is working together as a team to meet client’s needs and to make a difference.

One of the most pronounced and vocal women CEOs is IBM’s Ginni Rometty. For the last seven years, she’s headed up one of the most conservative companies in one of the most male-dominated industries in the world. But since she’s been in the role, her company has gone from strength to strength. Part of the reason for this, many believe, is her ability to provide colleagues with the fundamental motivation they need to do great work. It’s her vision and inspiration that motivates her team to continue developing products, like the company’s AI software Watson, to new levels of functionality. And now she’s got a whole team of people totally dedicated to delivering better healthcare through artificial intelligence. It’s a stunning and worthwhile direction that she’s taking the company.

Resourcefulness

If you were to boil down entrepreneurship to its essence, what would it be? Probably the first thing that would come to your mind would be resourcefulness – the ability to do a lot with very little. Women leaders are particularly resourceful, especially when it comes to personal relationships. Rather than focusing just on products, they build out networks and then lever those networks to propel their businesses forwards. This is part of the reason why so many of the most successful businesses on social media are headed by women.

Being resourceful helps women entrepreneurs to sustain momentum in their businesses. Often companies can get dragged down by politics and infighting. But through creative planning and approaches to HR, a lot of this can be avoided. Rather than the internal structure of the company set up to be competitive, women want their companies to be more collaborative – firms in which people work together for a common goal, not fight over scraps of commission.

Women also use their resourcefulness to manage their time. Projects tend to be completed well before the deadline thanks to the fact that women are able to call upon their organizational skills to get the job done.

Love Of Strategy

Of course, being a great woman entrepreneurs is more than just being a master at organizing people. It also has to do with the ability to implement new technologies in a strategic way that improve client relationships. Women are constantly on the lookout for new technologies that can assist their capacity to make management decisions and develop relationships with others outside the firm. More and more women are investing time and money into online contract management software to help them better manage their supply chain. They realize that if they are to have great relationships with their suppliers, then they need to automate the dull parts of the process and spend more time on the value-added parts, like entertaining, sending personal emails and getting to know them better in meetings. Anything which takes away from administration puts women entrepreneurs at a competitive advantage, giving them more time to do the things that their clients really care about.

Table

The other reason why women use strategy is that they want to minimize risk. Studies repeatedly show that women are more risk-averse than men. In short, they’re not as willing to put it all on the line for a big payoff. Many women who want to see significant returns on their investments, therefore, now value strategic thinking – a type of thinking which helps stack the deck in your favor.

What does that mean in practice? Suppose, for instance, that you want to sell a product to prospective clients. Making a sales pitch is expensive, and so you want to get something out of it at the end of the process. Most entrepreneurs would just fill their diary with pitch meetings and hope that some of the companies or customers will take the bait and buy the product. But this is a high-risk strategy – only a few people will ever just buy on the spot. Women, however, are more likely to soften up their targets before the big pitch, getting to know them and selling themselves in the process. Top businesses leaders embrace their clients from a social perspective, gaining their trust and building to a pitch slowly.

Focused On Opportunities

Throughout history, women have been able to take advantage of enormous business opportunities. Take Estee Lauder, for instance. Lauder was the daughter of Hungarian immigrant parents. She noticed that after the war, women in Europe were experiencing rising incomes and, as a result, they wanted to feel good about the way that they looked. Lauder realized that she had a consumer boom on her hands and that the time was ripe for a foray into the cosmetics industry.

Table

Wikimedia Commons

Before long, she’d developed a couple of pioneering marketing drives, common today, but relatively unheard of for the times. She first began handing out free samples of her products to get people interested. Women realized that the free samples worked great, and so they quickly came back and bought the whole product. The second thing she did was begin including gifts with all purchases – something which is commonly used by modern credit card companies.

What Lauder’s experience proved was that women could be fiercely business-minded and take advantage of opportunities in the market, especially those markets they knew a lot about. Lauder was a glass-half-full type of person, rather than half-empty and new that boundaries needed to be pushed by women like her to make a difference in the lives of other women.

Dissatisfied With The Status Quo

A report by the Center for Women’s Businesses Research found that the fastest growing segment of entrepreneurs is minority women, growing at rates of over 100 percent per year in many circumstances. African American female entrepreneurs, for instance, are up more than 191.1 percent over the last decade.

Driving this is a general dissatisfaction with the status quo. Women are fed of the stagnant economy and falling wages, and they’re looking to improve their status in life. At the root of what many women entrepreneurs are doing is a desire to help their local community, build up incomes and generate a more prosperous life for all.

This level of passion is something that we used to only really see in Silicon Valley startups, but now it’s in communities all over the place, thanks to the passion women bring to the role of business leader. Could you do the same in your community?

Improving A Product To Network Marketing Standards For API systems

So your product has gotten past the preliminary stages of development, and the foundations seem to be holding up. But how can you improve your product, so it becomes available to shops, businesses, and online market? The underlying factors are that a product which can be offered to the masses with greater reach must meet the set standards of the day. What’s popular has a lot to do with it, but often you’re trying to compete with businesses which have already pitched their tent and have a good reputation with consumers; not to mention a product which has considerably more testing and development. To truly improve your product in ready for the markets, you need to be innovative and change the features of it, yet still, have the concept remain intact, so it’s different to the competitors.

Trial and feedback

It’s going to be difficult to let go, but allow outsiders to critique and build upon your product by suggesting innovations in real-time. When you go to test your product, whether you do it online or as part of a survey in the high street, always ask for written feedback. To increase traffic on your website, offer a trial period for your product, with the simple exchange of one’s email address. Not only do potential customers sign up to your website giving your the ability to send them updates in the form of a newsletter to entice them, but you also gain analytical behavior. After the trial ends via an online timer or a coded timer into the trial product, in the end, there should be some form of feedback gathering. This could be in the form of a review and comment or a questionnaire asking what things could be improved.

Penetrating the mainstream

Network marketing is a concept that essentially relies on others to do the legwork for your product and business. Rather than solely relying on advertisements, your business should look to utilize an API Platform. With an API you could get onto businesses scrolling lists which display options for them regarding purchases. With a team of testers and developers, and by collating information of what customers want and the current trends, you should adapt your product to supply the central narrative and therefore stand a better chance of an API system that can interlock your product with customers searches. By appearing on the lists of service-based businesses, you are seen as a credible option and therefore compete directly with your contemporaries. Essentially, you’ll be placed right next to the popular brands with the chance of getting chosen, clicked and explored by customers when they’re looking for a match to their needs.

Further development

When you’re chosen by customers on third-party websites that offer services, it’s important to establish a rapport with that website. It’s imperative for validation confirmation, you find out why your product was chosen, and by analyzing the contrasting and intricate options presented, the picture appears clearer. Essentially, the API platform will respond to a search or order and bring back the most suitable and fitting option to customers. As to why they eventually chose to buy your product can have multiple reasons. Therefore, work with businesses that display your business and set up a meeting or, a deal that would have them relay reviews and customer preferences that show patterns.

Why Franchising Could be Right for You

Franchising

Pexels

So you want to run a business, but you’re not sure you have the means to start from the very bottom. Well, there is a way to develop a business without having to begin from square one. Franchising sees a company – a franchisor – letting someone buy the rights to use their branding and other assets to develop a new location for that business. This is a popular means of getting into entrepreneurship! Here’s why franchising could be right for you.

You’ll have more control

Is it accurate to say that you’ll be “your own boss” if you get into franchising? Well, yes and no. No because you still have responsibilities to the franchisor, the overarching authority of the brand, who will need you to meet certain expectations. But, by and large, you’ll be left to your own devices to accomplish this. You won’t have to deal with nitty-gritty or over-controlling managers and complex organizational structures. You’ll have much more control over your professional life.

Franchising

Flickr

Branding and a customer base are already there

Even when you’re opening up your very first location using the franchise, you’ll already have a lot of branding elements – such as logos and color schemes – as well as a loyal customer base. You don’t have to create a new customer base – you just need to expand it, which will be much easier when you have the current branding at your disposal. Most franchises will already have detailed websites and social media accounts set up. If you run things in a way that’s consistent with the good reputation the brand already has, then you should be fine!

You’ll get the training and assistance you need

Getting involved in a franchise has a much lower barrier to entry than starting up a business in many ways. You don’t need to have specialist knowledge at the start, because the vast majority of franchisors will provide you will all the training you need. Throughout your dealings as a franchise owner, you’ll be able to seek assistance from the franchisor in several matters, including financial troubles or negotiations with suppliers.

There are a variety of businesses to work with

Name a type of business that you’d like to get into and it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll be able to find a franchise along those lines. What to get into the health food business? You can check out some Healthy YOU Vending reviews if you want to see a related business. Most of the biggest franchises in the United States deal with food in some form, but there’s also tutoring, financial services, home care, consulting… pretty much any business type you can think of is something you can consider from a franchise angle!

Franchising

Networking is easier

If you want to make it big in the business world, then you’ve got to put some hard work into networking. Thankfully, just like you have an established customer base with a franchise, you’ll also have established contacts ready for you. Suppliers, customers, partners – you’ll be able to communicate with the types of parties that the franchisor have already struck up a relationship with. This makes one of the trickiest part of developing a business much easier!

The Right and Wrongs Ways of Managing Business Projects

Wrongs

Flickr

Projects. They’re the lifeblood of most modern businesses, whether office-based or not. The complexity of your average business project seems to be getting more and more complex all the time, which is quite the concern when we consider the growing importance of efficiency in business!

There’s plenty of room for mistakes when it comes to project management, but there are also a lot of opportunities to shine. A modern business is heavily defined by the success of all its projects in ways that your clients and customers (and many other outsiders) probably don’t appreciate. It’s of the utmost importance that your projects go as smoothly as possible! This guide will take you through some of the right ways to go about project management, as well as going through some of the mistakes that it’s crucial for you to avoid.

Wrongs

Pixabay

Roles, authorities, and points of contact

A complex project will probably need to be helmed by quite a large team! And, as any manager will know, handling a lot of people can get pretty overwhelming pretty quickly. What you need to ensure is that everybody knows precisely who is the chosen authority in any given situation. The role of everyone should be clearly defined to both themselves and to other team members; you shouldn’t have a situation in which one team member doesn’t know precisely what another team member does! When people have a clear understanding of the abilities and responsibilities of their teammates, they’ll know precisely to who they should turn when a problem arises.

An employee knowing their specific role is an essential element of ensuring efficiency in the office. Without clearly defined roles, they may get tasks handed to them that would be much better handled by someone else. This also makes it clear that you should pick your team members very carefully. Define your project needs early on and ensure you have the best possible people working on the project.

Plan, plan, plan

The French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (you may know him as the writer of The Little Prince) once wrote that a goal without a plan is just a wish. This can be applied to many things in life, but you need to keep in mind in the context of project management. Without a thorough and detailed plan, your business project could be heading towards disaster.

Wrongs

Pixabay

Of course, another writer – Robert Burns of Scotland – wrote that “The best laid schemes of mice and men go often askew”. As pessimistic as it may sound, you also need to consider the fact that was so elegantly worded by Mr Burns: things probably won’t go as you planned. Some managers take this to mean that thorough planning is thus a waste of time, but this isn’t so. Without a plan, your employees don’t have a sturdy path to follow – nor will they have a reliable course of action if (or, rather, when) things do go wrong.

Dealing with deadlines

This part is one of the trickiest aspects of the whole endeavor. There’s a sensitive balancing act at play here. You need to set a deadline that instils a mild sense or urgency, one that doesn’t allow people to get complacent. But it also needs to be reasonable; you need to give people plenty of time to get the work done, and you should probably also have a bit of slack to account for any mistakes or unexpected occurrences that arise.

Wrongs

Pixabay

It can be best to know precisely how much time you have between one date and another, so the use of a day duration calculator during the planning stages can be very helpful indeed. This allows you to properly assess how many work days you’re going to get between the chosen start date and the prospective deadline. One mistake you should certainly avoid is selecting a deadline that you know is a lot earlier than you need. You may think that this will encourage people to work harder, but more often than not the deadline will need to be extended – which can actually foster less respect for deadlines in your office and introduce a more relaxed approach to them.

Task prioritization

A lot of project managers tend to prioritize tasks quite late into the project. This isn’t how you should be doing it! Task prioritization should be something that is done at the very beginning of the project, with focus placed on it throughout the lifespan on the project. Once you know what tasks need to be completed, you and the team should then collaborate on prioritizing.

Don’t be tempted to do this without the employees who will ultimately be working on those tasks. They will have some specific knowledge about each task, which means they’ll also know how a given task can potentially affect another. You may pick a task and think that it seems fairly small, something that can be lowered in terms of priority because it’s relatively quick. But someone else on the team – someone who specializes in that area – may see that the task could hinder someone’s ability to complete other tasks which are more evidently important. In which case, as small as the task might seem at first, it may need to be considered of the highest priority!

Wrongs

Flickr

Project management software

A lot of business owners make the mistake of assuming that certain software is going to solve all of their office problems. While it’s true that the importance of a lot of software is overplayed somewhat – nothing is going to make up for a lack of hard work and brainpower, after all – the right software can make things so much more efficient. This is certainly true of project management. Otherwise, you have to rely on whiteboards, Post-Its, and other physical media which might make the management process a lot less dynamic than it really needs to be.

A lot of micromanagement is required when you’re dealing with a complex project. Software that helps you with visualization, editing, assignment, and even document creation can be a lifesaver for the project management process. Software for juggling the several schedules and tasks scattered across team members is essential. Services that will help with the management of digital assets that can work in conjunction with other pieces of software may also be required.  Research your options thoroughly!

How to Make Money Selling Your Fruit & Veg

Fruit

With people being more health conscious than ever before it is no wonder that the world of organic fruit and veg is booming. If you have got into the trend of growing your own fruit and vegetables and have found yourself with a big supply of gorgeous fresh produce, then selling it is a great way to make sure nothing goes to waste and that you can make some cash in the process. If you are keen to try out selling your beloved hand grown fresh produce then follow our simple tips on how to go about it.

Location, Location, Location

First things first you will need to decide on where to sell your produce. You may want to chose just one or you may decide on a few different locations. But what you need to bear in mind is that the amount of money you make will be influenced on the location of your stand. You will want to place yourself in an area where people are already looking to buy food, or in an area where the people in the area are more likely to pay a little more for hand grown, organic produce, rather than the cheaper supermarket options.

Check With Your Council

Once you have established, more or less, whereabouts you would like to place your stand you will then need to run your proposed trading ideas past your local council. Each council has their own laws and regulations when it comes to trading in the local area and that will apply to anyone wanting to sell food items. Therefore you will need to contact your council to enquire about any permits, trading restrictions or inspections that will be necessary before you get started.

Buying the Correct Equipment

You will then need to think about how you will go about actually getting yourself set up and ready to trade. You will need to think about how you will go about washing and cleaning all the produce. How you plan to transport all the produce and then all the items you will need on the stand itself.

You will need to invest in bags and fruit palettes and a good set of weighing scales. If you’re not sure of the types of scales you will need, look here for the best retail scales for 2017. You will also need to think about the stand itself and how you plan to best display your lovely fruit and veg. Presentation is everything when it comes to grabbing the attention of passerbys so you will need to put some thought into how you can best showcase your homegrown produce.

Manage Your Money

If you really see this as a lucrative business for yourself then you will definitely need to be properly managing your money and treating it as a professional business venture. Therefore you will want to be super organised with the produce that is being sold and the profits that you are bringing in. You will need to plan how much of the money you make, needs to be put back into the business so you can continue to grow your fruit and vegetable business and enjoy feeding your local community with your lovely organic produce, for as long as you choose to.

Innovative Strategies for Your Manufacturing Firm to Thrive

Manufacturing

Manufacturing firms face many challenges, and mistakes can prove costly. From a lack of planning to unexpected downtime, there are many circumstances that can arise and spell trouble for your business. Equally, however, there are many opportunities for manufacturing businesses. You simply need to ensure that you have innovative strategies in place that are designed to enable your manufacturing firm to consistently deliver and improve at a rate that other businesses cannot match. Here are some approaches to follow to achieve this:

  • Leverage the global economy – A lot of manufacturing start-ups worry about overseas competition. But, instead of seeing this as a threat, why not look for global opportunities instead? By doing this, you will protect your firm from any potential threats by leveraging alliances and partnerships. This will lead to the identification of opportunities, improved business intelligence, complementary business capabilities, and maximum market penetration.
  • Engage your people – It is important to get your people on side. Your partners and employees could be your greatest effort, but this depends on you. You need to create a workplace environment that fosters high retention rates. You can do this by investing in training, and thus showing employees that there are opportunities for progression. You should also create a culture that encourages decision-making and accountability.
  • Plan for sustainability – It is important to continually invest in new production methods, technologies, and machinery. You cannot afford to remain stagnant; otherwise, you will wind up with inefficient processes and methods. Companies like TechSouth provide a complete one-stop solution for businesses that require machinery and tools. This enables manufacturing firms to find the most efficient tool for their specific products and processes. By making the most of this, you will lower costs through minimizing material and energy consumption, as well as managing susceptibility to price changes, as competition for raw materials rises.
  • Master the art of customer-focused innovation – You need to listen to your clients. Have a systematic process in place to ensure you gather all thoughts regarding the needs of your customers. You can then use this valuable data to develop new services and products that add great value.
  • Gain knowledge from your extended network – Establish a trusted network of suppliers and partners to capitalize on opportunities quicker than competing businesses. This will enable you to make the most of sharing information, leverage each other’s strengths, and rebuild value chains.
  • Commit to continually improving your manufacturing firm – Let’s end with perhaps the most important point of them all: committing to the continual improvement if your business. You need to invest in the technologies, procedures, and people that make implementing change a mindset. No business can afford to remain stagnant, and manufacturing firms are certainly included in this.

If you take note of the four points that have been mentioned above, you can put plans in place to ensure that your manufacturing firm continues to thrive and that you gain a competitive edge over the competition. Continually moving forward and capitalizing on numerous opportunities are necessities.

Marketing Techniques That Make Your Business Stand Out

Stand out

When you think about how your customers view your company, do you imagine you are making a good impression? The competitive storm that is your industry, your company has to be one that stands out among all the competition and is noticed. Are you hitting the right target market? Are you using all the tools at your disposal to bring customers to you?

If you are answering no to any of those questions, then you need to have a rethink about the way you market yourself as a company. Your marketing strategy should be so tight and so thought out, that your customers are begging you for more of what you can offer. If you don’t have a marketing team on your side and need advice on your strategies – especially if they’re not working – then consulting a marketing agency is the way forward. Many companies fail because they’re not marketing themselves correctly to their target market. So, how can you make your marketing message stand out above all others?

Stand out

  1. Focus on the solutions that you can offer people. Customers go online looking for solutions to their problems, whether that’s a new dress to go out in or the hunt for a web designer to help with their website. If you are offering a solution to a problem, then half the job is already done. When a product or service is in demand, people will come looking for you. The seo experts at Schure Consulting LLC can help.
  2. Change things up on your company website. Your website is going to be the first thing that people look for, so it has to be eye-catching and tell people exactly what it is that you do. Why not change the standard colours and text for a video edited by National Audio Visual? By adding a video to your website of either a presentation about your company, or a ‘day in the life’ of someone in your company, you give yourself more personality?
  3. Take a good aim and hit your target market right in the face. Any marketing that doesn’t hit your target market is a waste of your time. It’s just junk mail through the door of people who aren’t looking for your services. You need to give your target market something to interest them and your marketing techniques are going to do that. People don’t tend to like fliers through the door anymore – marketing is mostly online and targeted to social media.
  4. Be extreme in your marketing efforts! If you’re running a blog or investing in solid content marketing, why not go a bit above and beyond with your headlines? Click-sexy titles like these that catch the eye and make people want to read about you will matter, even if it starts with ‘oi, you!’. People like shocking and shocking articles create a subject to talk about. This talk will bring people to you who are interested in what you have to say.

Marketing doesn’t have to be boring. It can be bright, visual and grab your customer’s attention like nothing else ever has. Invest in it, it could make the difference between success and failure.

Challenges In Management For New Owners

When you’re running your business, there are a lot of different areas and sectors that you will need to manage effectively for it to be successful. If one area falls out of focus, it could be incredibly damaging for your company. An example of this would be marketing.

Making Marketing Work For You

Marketing is a crucial part of any business model, and you have to make sure that you get it right. As such, you need to be careful about what marketing solution you use in your business. You’re probably going to be hiring a company to complete marketing for you which is fine. You’ll save money and still get the great service that you require. You just have to make sure that you use the right company. If you don’t end up with a shoddy marketing agency, they can create havoc for your business.

For instance, they might be using terrible forms of SEO. If they are, you could earn a Google penalty and any business owner that has experienced this will tell you how difficult a recovery can be. Even if you don’t earn a Google penalty, it’s quite possible that your marketing has no effect at all. The business world is highly competitive, and without fantastic unique promotion, you might get zero tracking on the market.

The key here is to research carefully and when you do hire a marketing team, stay connected to them. Make sure you know exactly what’s going on and ask for regular updates or feedback that will highlight progress.

This is just one area of your company that you need to manage carefully. Let’s look at a few others.

Handling The Workforce

Marketing will probably be a separate business that you hire to complete a service for your company. But what about the people who actually work for you in your office. If you aren’t managing your own employees effectively, they can drift off target, and your business will quickly suffer from lower efficiency levels. At that point, your company becomes a less competitive force on the market. There are lots of different factors that play a part in how well a business workforce is managed, and it is critical to success that you get this right. Arguably though, the most important factor to consider is whether your workforce is happy and healthy. It may sound corny, but happier workers do indeed work harder.

Dealing With Customers

Lastly, you need to think about customer support. It’s crucial that you are handling your customers effectively, making sure that they are taken care of. This is all about getting your support team right. You need to make sure that staff are well trained to deal with customer complaints and to quickly put them at ease. If you fail to do this, you will be facing a lot of negative reviews online.

The issue with negative reviews is that other consumers will take notice of them. As such, this could essentially limit your chances of increasing your customer base.

If you make sure, you are managing these areas of your business effectively you will increase your chances of success on the market.

Giving Your Healthcare Startup A Vital Injection!

Healthcare

Every startup is usually due a shot in the arm in one way or another, and this is doubly so when you’re running a company that is all about healthcare and the welfare of people. Have you been finding that your healthcare startup hasn’t been hitting the numbers recently? Or have you been looking for ways to improve the company overall? It is this industry that can suffer from overcrowding, and when it comes to people’s wellbeing, this needs to be taken seriously, so how can you inject a sense of urgency back into your business?

Tech For Patients

Increasing the interactivity between patient and doctor has been a long time coming now, and there are still many other healthcare providers that don’t have a comprehensive online service, or they’re only able to contact their surgery through a (permanently busy) telephone service. By making apps or by utilizing online doctors, it does a lot to minimize physical queues for the doctor and increase turnover and separates the sick from the really sick.

Upgrading Your Location

Medical startups are on the increase around the world, and by changing your location to a place where you’re providing for those that need it, you’re identifying a big need. The location, combined with interior renovations, will attract potential clients. And while there is a school of thought where the interior doesn’t necessarily matter when compared to the service, there are interior design healthcare professionals who would argue the contrary. It is a part of the branding, but it is also part of what will communicate to patients that your business is a far reliable one than their previous healthcare provider.

 Focus On The Staff

Their welfare is as important, perhaps even more so if you have minimal staff but huge amounts of customers. By looking after your staff in a holistic manner, looking after their wellbeing as well as their pay packet, they will put in the professionalism required. You should also be providing them with nitrile gloves, masks, personal protective equipment and all other equipment that help protect your employees. More importantly, having medical malpractice insurance in place can offer the necessary protection for you and your staff if a mistake occurs in your company. And as the healthcare industry is rife with pressures, mental, emotional, physical, or psychological, this is merely scratching the surface of what issues your staff can be susceptible to. If you don’t look after their best interests, they won’t look after yours i.e. the business.

Creating Communities

The best healthcare providers are the ones that aren’t providing a service but are providing that extra service to people. And while the notion of customer care can be deemed somewhat disingenuous when in the context of the healthcare profession, being kind and considerate, and looking out for the welfare of people should form the backbone of every single healthcare professional in the world. And as a result, the concept of community is what will ultimately have people return, and this can be done online, such as online forums, and social media posts. The internet is the key tool for promoting a relationship between the professional and the patient. And if your startup is blindsided by finances rather than the welfare of patients, it’s not the best attitude to have. Build a healthy community, and the rest will follow.

Office Internet Dragging? Give It a Boost

Office

Some people say that no Internet is better than slow Internet. Is it true? Well, a strong case could be made. If your Internet connection is so slow that it’s going to take an age to do anything – if you can do anything at all – then it can certainly feel this way. After all, if it’s too slow to accomplish anything, then it might as well be non-existent so as to save you the frustration of even trying, right?

In any case, slow Internet at the office is certainly on the list of “last things you need” when it comes to business efficiency. Oddly enough, a lot of business owners seem to not take any action when it comes to this problem. It’s as though they think there’s nothing that can be done, or that divine intervention is going to fix things.

Don’t make your employees suffer with slow Internet. Boost business efficiency with these speed-improving tips.

Get the experts in

The best course of action might be to work with IT consultants in order to ensure that there aren’t any hardware problems afoot in your office. Businesses like Qoverage can help you ensure that you’re getting as much power from your Internet connection as you should be. There are several problems potential problems that could be affecting your router or antennas that will need investigating. Some of the wireless cards in your computers may be acting up, also. (This is why you may want to put a bit more reliance on wired setups instead of exclusively wireless setups!)

Limit streaming

Yes, I know; some people can do work perfectly well while listening to music. And some workers, such as illustrators, may even find no problem watching YouTube videos as they work. But having an office filled with employees using music and video streaming services just eats away at your bandwidth. Consider telling your employees that you’re happy for them to enjoy these things to a reasonable degree, but that they should find offline ways of enjoying it. Streaming services like Tidal offer offline modes. Perhaps people could even – shock! horror! – buy music and have digital copies on their computer and MP3 player.

Ensure the connection is protected

I’ve worked in at least two offices with slow Internet problems which, upon investigation, turned out to be largely the cause of a lot of people nearby using the connection because it wasn’t adequately protected. Don’t assume that not having a password for your Wi-Fi connection makes it much simpler for everyone in the office; you don’t want to end up sharing that precious bandwidth with people in nearby buildings, or even random passers-by. (This can also result in data breaches and your network being infected with malware, by the way!)

Contact your ISP

If nothing else is working, you’ll need to get in touch with your Internet service provider. This isn’t exactly the most fun thing in the world, but it may be the only way to get the issue fixed. If your package simply isn’t powerful enough, then consider getting an upgrade. You don’t want to be cheap when it comes to your Internet connection!

The Three C's of Outsourcing vs. In-House

Outsourcing

The question of whether to outsource or keep tasks in-house is something the vast majority of businesses face today. In most cases, businesses find that there are benefits that come from outsourcing certain jobs. However, it is all about knowing when it is best to outsource and when it is better to keep things in-house. This comes down to three C’s, which are cost, capacity, and competency. By considering these three key factors, you should be able to determine whether a specific task is something to outsource or keep in-house.

Cost – Let’s begin with cost. This is undoubtedly one of the key factors that need to be considered, however, it is something that is often miscalculated. This is because most business owners tend to simply look at the initial outlay when it comes to outsourcing, and assume that it is way too expensive. It is important to look at the costs over an extended period of time, for example, over the course of a year. This will give you a true reflection. The initial expense may be higher when it comes to outsourcing, but when you keep things in-house; you have on-going salaries and the related expenses to contend with on a monthly basis. Also, if you only need a service on a temporary basis, you are only going to pay for what you need when it comes outsourcing. For permanent tasks, the in-house approach could be much more cost efficient.

Competency – Competency is the ability to do something efficiently or successfully. If you don’t have this ability at your business, it would be better to look elsewhere. Accountancy and IT support often fall under this banner. Unless you operate an IT business, you are not going to have the experience required to support your own business. This could mean extensive downtime, which could lead to lost customers and be detrimental to your reputation. Managed IT services for businesses mean that you can have the peace of mind that your IT systems are supported efficiently and ticking along nicely in the background, enabling you to focus on the core of your business, i.e. what you do best. On the other hand, if you have the competency to handle a task in-house, there is no reason to shift the responsibility elsewhere.

Capacity – Do you have the resources required to carry out the task in question in-house? Or, are you going to stretch your business too far by attempting to handle this project? If you don’t have the capacity, you need to get help. This is especially important for small businesses and start-ups. Although we like to handle everything ourselves, it is simply not feasible when you consider the variety of tasks businesses need to handle that aren’t directly related to the core of their firm.

Hopefully, you now have a better understanding regarding the three C’s that should be considered when you are deciding whether to outsource a certain task or keep it in-house. By carefully assessing the cost, your competency, and your firm’s capacity, the decision should be a lot easier.
